Bryant graduate of 2023, Moe Sanda Shwe (19 years old), who you might know as Sohana or Moe, is currently attending Hunter College. Aspiring to take foot in the field of Education, Sohana took time to share the ways Bryant has helped her achieve her milestones. Attending classes three times a week, Sohana found herself working part time as an assistant teacher in an elementary school.
Graduating from a school filled with amazing teachers, Sohana mentioned she was inspired by Ms. Frank, Mr. Tjoeng, Mr. Velez and last but not least Mr. Stahl. She loved the environment they formed where students “felt free to talk” and to “explore new things”. She hopes that one day students of her own can do the same. Sohana continues to share how Bryant has helped her with achieving “time management and study skills,” which guides her in college. Though college life is different, we learned from Sohana how it can be, “challenging, transformative and dynamic.
On that note, I couldn’t leave this interview without asking Sohana for a few pieces of advice for the seniors and freshmen attending Bryant. Sohana emphasized to the new freshmen, “Don’t be afraid of challenges, they help you grow and lead you to wisdom.” She continued to the seniors, “Have fun in your senior year, grab all the opportunities to learn and grow. Trust me! It will help you prepare to get ready for college and some challenging adventures.”. I hope Bryant can continue to see the bright students it has formed throughout the years.
