The blue and yellow balloons make their way to the field as William Cullen Bryant HS starts the year off strong with their spirited Pep Rally! As we enter fall, the pep rally is Bryant’s way of preparing the fall season of sports and the annual homecoming game.
As the students were joining and settling in, Bryant’s mascot The Owl’s appearance created a lot of energy in the crowds. The mood was bright and cheerful as the students and teachers got excited to cheer on the fall sports teams. The pep rally consisted of performances from the cheerleaders, dance company and the band. Bryant celebrated the bowling team, boys and girls cross country, boys soccer team, girls tennis team and the girls varsity and JV volleyball teams.
After many songs performed by the band, Bryant’s boys football team made their way to the field. The crowd cheered uncontrollably helping the boys get ready for their homecoming game taking place the next day. The performances from the dance company and cheerleaders were all insanely thrilling. With each performance came something new. As a plot twist the principal had walked around and played a fun game with everyone in the bleachers. She first walked past and teased the students with hoodies. The students were all yelling for one! She grabbed a few hoodies and threw them at the students to catch. That was a funny twist that not many students were expecting. In the end, Bryant provided pretzels and popcorn for all the students as celebrations continued on the field. Students were running to get food as they were all hungry. What a way to end the week. Go Owls!!
